Gmail Tool — Personal MCP Server

What This Is

This is a personal integration tool that connects an AI assistant to a single Gmail account for read-only access. It operates as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server and is used exclusively by the developer, Yves La Rose, for personal productivity purposes.

No other users can authenticate to this application. It is not a commercial product or service.

What It Does

Search Threads

Search Gmail threads matching a query (read-only).

Read Messages

Retrieve full message content from a thread.

List Labels

View user-defined Gmail labels.

No Send / Delete

Cannot compose, send, modify, or delete any emails or threads.

Data & Privacy

This tool accesses Gmail data via OAuth 2.0 using the gmail.readonly scope. Here is what that means:

OAuth tokens are stored securely and never shared with third parties.
Email content is accessed in-session only and is not persisted or stored beyond the current session.
No email data is used for training, analytics, advertising, or any purpose outside of the developer's personal assistant workflow.
No write, send, modify, or delete operations are possible — the scope is read-only.
